Fayoum Portraits

Some pictures of the Fayoum portraits that date back to the Roman era
It is a group of paintings that were painted on wood and then installed on the face of the mummy. These portraits were found throughout Egypt, but the largest group was found in Fayoum, and it is widely believed that this photography was used as a mask (mask) on the mummies in order to identify  On him, therefore, he drew a match for the original form of the deceased, which dates back to the first century BC and continued until the third century AD in Egypt during the period of Roman rule. After that date, Coptic Christian icons began to appear, which are an extension of the Fayoum portraits.
Of course, Fayoum portraits is the modern name for this group of paintings that have been found all over Egypt, but most of them were found in Fayoum, so I took the name of Fayoum Portraits.
The artist excelled in depicting the features and details of the deceased through the eyes, which were often overshadowed by faint sadness.

The name of King Pepe II was related with the missions he had shipped off the south by the head of the Elephantine rulers.

Egypt was in this period needing the amazing lord, who has the influence and position to get control over the legislative heads of the areas, whose reliability to the focal government debilitated and their dependability to themselves to acquire more influence and cash without regard for the states of their consideration, however King Bibi was not solid and consequently couldn't release Under these conditions, disarray spread all through the nation and there was no casualty except for the laborer and the workers who had tasted both. or on the other hand A social upset in the entire world finished the condition of debasement and disarray not long after his passing

Mummy of grandfather Ptah

                                                         Mummy of grandfather Ptah
The grandfather of Ptah served as a "priest / servant of Amun" during the reign of King Sheshonq I of the 22nd Dynasty. This prominent position during the 22nd Dynasty was not a religious position but was used by the Libyan generals to control the Taybeh region in Upper Egypt, and at the same time ruled Lower Egypt. Before other kings in Tanis .... there were marriage relations between the two houses, which were necessary to maintain peace in Egypt, where neither of them seemed strong enough to control the entire country
Jed Ptah was buried in a cache in Deir el-Bahari
The mummy is in very good condition The examination has shown that the priest died at a very young age.
